For commercial licensing OR if you're planning exhibits, documentaries,
books, CD releases, etc.
I am producing/curating solo early punk
photography exhibits and larger collaborative early punk group
shows with photographers and artists (many of whom are also
musicians) with rare archival material, DVDs, videos and music
(live too). This series of punk photography/art/music shows
will begin in the LA area and tour nationwide.
Any suggestions for sites for these exhibitions
are appreciated! If you want to participate or have ideas, contacts,
or to be added to my email updates, contact

A few of my themes in color and black and
white:
Exciting live shots of bands
before they became huge;
Legendary and rare bands
who didn't become huge, but whose influence cannot be denied;
Backstage and parties;
Women in punk;
Street shots with incredible
fashion*;
Interaction of LA with NY
and England, something that no one has ever documented in film,
TV, movies, books or articles;
And more!
I took rare and classic shots from 1976-1980
of some of the most famous punk pioneers, from the Ramones,
Clash, Sex Pistols, Iggy, Blondie, Patti Smith to legendary
LA bands like the Germs, Screamers, Weirdos, X and the Go-Go’s
when they pure punk, not pop princesses. I am in touch with
several other photographers from that era as well as many of
the inner-most circle of performers, fans, artists, all of whom
have archival material, stories, and art from that seminal period.
My work has been used by record companies,
publications, documentaries, and books for nearly 30 years,
but I haven’t made them available to collectors, hence
I have a name but the market is wide open. I also have tons
of street cred because I lived the punk lifestyle, which adds
to the value. I have art degrees [BA in Art, CSUN and Master
of Fine Arts in Design from Cal Arts and have taught college/university
computer graphics] and exhibited prior to picking up a camera,
but that was another life.
*There's a nasty false rumor among some
circles punk was all black and white. LA punks wore colorful
clothes from many eras, living in a city of entertainers and
money, able to pick up incredible classic yet discarded clothes
for pennies and mix and match better than any stylist or designer
today. The proof is in our photos, so sit back and enjoy. Better
yet, participate!!
